Concho Farmer's Market
Special Events Calendar
April 19th - Earth Day Clean Up
Don't miss this chance to celebrate Earth Day! Join us at the site of the Concho Farmer's Market as we clean up the area and get ready for opening day. All market vendors and community members are invited to be there as we show our respect for the earth and our local environment.
May 3rd - Spring Clean Up Continues
To get ready for this year's market we will also be working on a few larger projects in addition to general clean up. By the time the market opens we hope to have the picnic table freshly painted and the shade armada complete. If you would like to get involved please do contact us for more details.
May 10th - Opening Day
The 2008 Farmer's Market season opens on Mother's Day weekend! Join us Saturday May 10th for a breath of fresh air and your pick of spring seedlings and veggies grown by local farmers. Handmade soaps & jams, unique jewelry & pottery, as well as fresh fudge will be among the unique gifts offered at the Concho Farmer's Market. Come meet the vendors and your neighbors at the market and help us get the 2008 season started with a bang!
June 7th - Barnyard Critters Day
Last year Barnyard Critters Day was a whole lot of fun. Folks at the market got the chance to see our farm animals up close. There were goats, rabbits and chickens...as well as cats and even a few alpaca! This year you can expect to have just as much as fun as you shop for farm raised eggs, fresh vegetables and local crafts.
*Please leave your dogs at home this day in consideration for the other animals who will be at the market. Also note that only vendors and guests who have made prior arrangements are eligible to bring animals to this event.
July 5th - Summer Clean Up Day
We'll be gathering after the Farmer's Market to clean up the space. As a vendor run and managed organization we provide our own grounds maintenance and trash removal. It may not be glamorous, but we feel that it is important to have a tidy space. As a contribution to the local community and as a courtesy to our shoppers we aim to keep the Farmer's Market clean and neat throughout the season.
July 12th - Arts & Crafts at the Market
One-of-a-kind handmade crafts and unique works of art created by local Concho artisans will be the highlight of our July 12th Farmer's Market. Unusual fiber & wood crafts, distinctive jewelry and hand-thrown pottery are among the items that will be displayed for sale. This will be a great opportunity to meet and mingle with the local art community that you definitely will not want to miss!
August 2nd - Garlic Festival
Do you love garlic? Well, you're in luck! Concho Farmer's Market vendors are anticipating a bumper garlic crop this year. Homegrown garlic is much fresher and more flavorful than what you can buy in the store and will add an extra zest to Italian recipes. Come learn about the different varieties of garlic and take some home for your favorite dish.
August 23rd - Chile Festival
The Concho Chile Festival is hot, hot, Hot! Chiles and peppers of all sorts will be on offer. But, best of all we'll have a chile roaster fired up. This is your chance to get premium local chiles...grown right in Concho and on nearby farms.
September 6th - In Case You Missed It...Chile & Tomato Fest
In case you missed it...join us for our second chile celebration of the season. In addition to fabulous local chiles hand-picked, sun-ripened tomatoes of every shape, size and variety will be the long awaited highlight of this farmer's market festival.
October 11th - Harvest Festival
Our fall festival will be a celebration of abundance. Harvest vegetables will abound marking the last month of the Concho Farmer's Market season. With winter quickly approaching consider stocking your pantry with the freshly canned goods and homemade preserves that can only be found at our market.
